Daniel’s Sporting
Masters
This is my attempt at selecting teams made up of players
whom I believe have been the best in their chosen sport since I started
watching top level sport in around 1985 or so. The only criterion here is
outstanding performance – a term that we all believe that we understand but use
to mean quite different things. Generally speaking, my idea of who the best
players are is based on who has the highest peaks. That is, a player who is
consistently very good is not as good as a player who doesn’t always reach his
or her peak but when they do, it’s worth the wait.
