What a wonderful trip this was. We chartered a boat to land on this barrier island. Fielding and I climbed up the lighthouse for some nice views while my brother Pete attempted to climb Tower B only to discover the last flight of steps was too unsafe to proceed into the cabin. The steps for both Tower A and C were dismantled long ago.
After exploring Smith Island the three of us landed on Mockhorn. Both towers were not safe to climb. We literally had to wade ashore here due to the very low tide.
