          Spiritual Gift --- "Administration"

"He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love." --- (SofS 2:4)
Travis Case, Pastor/Teacher               Northgate Baptist Church               F.E.A.S.T Seminar

Rom. 12:3-8, "For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God Hath Dealt To Every Man the measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Having Then Gifts Differing According To The Grace That Is Given to us, whether Prophecy let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or Ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that Teacheth, on teaching; Or he that Exhorteth, on exhortation: he that Giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that Ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth Mercy, with cheerfulness."

Introduction:

A. A "Kubernesis" (Greek) "One Who Stands Out Front," Was A Steersman For A Ship.

B. There Are Actually Two Leadership Styles:

1. One Organizes Things, Events or Programs --- he will usually organize Details and have people carry them out.

2. The other Organizes People And Emphasizes Personal Relationships and leadership Responsibilities --- he is not a detail person, but relies on others to take care of the little things.

C. When Things In The Church Become Fragmented, The Leader Can Harmonize The Whole Program If Given A Chance.

1. However, he may Not Take Time To Explain to those under him why he is doing things, he Just Expects the job to get done.

2. His patience may wear thin when plans are not carried through as he laid them out.

D. Sometimes, When A Leader Builds A Great Following, The Question Is Usually Asked: "Are They Following God or The Man?"

1. Paul said in 1 Cor. 11:1, "Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ."

2. The Truth Is --- Many of These People Would Not Be Following God If The Man Wasn't Present.

3. Throughout history God has always had His men for leading.

4. Would the Israelites have left Egypt if they hadn't had Moses?

5. Would they have conquered the Promised Land without Joshua?

6. God could have chosen a number of ways to accomplish His work --- but He always chose to do so with a Leader.

7. All Through Israel's History --- When There Was Godly Leadership, Israel Prospered --- When There Was Poor Leadership, There Was Failure.

Nehemiah --- Had The Spiritual Gift of Organization
