TCS CRICKET TOURNAMENT  - 2001
CRICKET MATCH SCHEDULES: - 
 
Six teams will be playing with nine players in each team. Three teams will form the Group-A and other three would be the Group-B. Every thing is based on the lot system drawn in presence of the team captains.
 
The
detailed schedule of the nine matches is shown here: -
    
Prelims
(Round Robin Within a Group): - (Six

Initially each team in the group will play one match each against the other 2 teams of the same group. The best two teams would qualify for the semifinals. If all three teams win one match each, the best two teams will be decided based on the order of the run rate, total runs scored, and number of wickets lost. In case of a tie the winners will be decided based on the run rate in that match.
 
Subsequently four teams (two from each group) would
enter into the Semifinals. The teams would be ranked based on their performance
in the prelims. The team A-1 will play against the B-2 and vice versa.
 
The
final match will be played between the best two teams A and B of the
tournament.

CRICKET RULES AND
REGULATIONS: -
 
Following
rules will apply for all the teams  
 
1)     
No  LBW (leg before wicket)
2)     
No
Overthrows.
3)     
No
leg-bye and byes.
4)     
No
runs for NO ball.
5)     
There
will be a run for Wide balls.
6)     
Single
Wicket will be played.
7)     
Max
three overs per bowler. Number of bowlers per team is not restricted.
8)     
2
Neutral umpires should be present for each match.
9)     
Matches
will be played using either the soft baseball or the hard tennis ball.
10) 
Number
of overs per match is 12.
11) 
 Captains are responsible for their team
presence in the field.
12) 
 Match will start exactly at the scheduled
time.
13) 
 The innings will come to an end when the team
loses 8 wkts. (The last not out batsman can’t continue to bat)
14) 
Handling
the ball is equivalent to getting out
15) 
 Umpire’s decision will be final

           PRE-OCCUPIED GROUND OR WEATHER CONDITION:-
 
In case the ground is pre-occupied on the scheduled date we would look for an alternate ground or we will postpone that match depending upon the availability of the ground to any weekdays before the subsequent weekend. The match may also be postponed depending upon the weather condition.

CRICKET TEAM:  -
 
There will be separate ladies cricket teams whose team members and the match schedules will be announced shortly. They will have their own schedules among themselves.
