ADMISSION: Admission is free, but a bucket collection will be taken to cover expenses. £5 would be nice, but otherwise whatever you can afford.

CONCERT PROGRAMME

PRELUDE:

The evening will begin with a 10-minute art-video presentation entitled “THE VOICE OF ZEIBEKIKO”, made by Christos Prossylis.

FIRST HALF: The evening will start with a presentation of musical materals by our colleagues from Turkey.

INTERVAL: 15 MINUTES

SECOND HALF: Featuring the SOAS Ad Hoc Rebetiko Band. Three of our members, Kalia, Cahit and Peyman will do a couple of numbers on their own.

Then the whole band will play songs from the SOAS RebetikoSong Book, with instrumental interludes. Our Turkish colleagues will join us for the final section. The concert will include tunes that are part of the joint Greek-Turkish heritage.
