London had the pleasure on 17 January 2003 of the premiθre of Emilio della Chiesa's documentary film of the Hydra Rebetiko Gathering 2001-2. This is now being re-edited, and will soon be available to participants.

 

At the same event we were also delighted to be able to show the English version of Luc Bongrand's Nuit sans Lune in its newly-printed English-language version. This is now available commercially from Les Films du Vilage [village@noos.fr].

 

Exciting news: the British Library of London (National Sound Archive) has agreed to create a section containing the archives of the Institute of Rebetology.  This means that all audio-visual materials arising out of the Hydra Rebetiko Gathering will have a permanent home in London, available for public access.
