for An Interactive Contributive Rebetiko Database"

SUMMARY:
Presentation of a personal work-in-progress database which pulls together basic
information about rebetika and rebetes. The database features cross-search
functionalities. It can operate as a stand-alone application, or can be linked
to an external records database with an MP3 player.
The next
step of this project would be to convert the application into a contributive
interactive online database, moderated, but open to visitors for consultation
and updating.
My paper
will describe the present stage of development of the project. I shall point
out the different problems encountered, and the choices that have been made
regarding language, structure and (just a bit) technologies.
